eLearning Narration Recording: From Cubicle to Professional Studio

Photo of golden vintage microphoneI’ll be speaking at the November 10 meeting of the Denver Metro E-Learning Developers (DMELD) from 7-9 pm. I’ll be joined by Scott “Gusty” Christensen as we present, “eLearning Narration Recording: From Cubicle and Home Office to Professional Studio.”
John will cover:

  • The intended audience and devices they will be listening to
  • Script preparation
  • Style of vocal delivery – straight scripted vs. informal, impromptu
  • Volunteer vs. professional voice talent
  • The recording environment – Cubicles, Home Office, Conference room
  • The recording equipment – mics, headphones, pre-amps, acoustics
  • Post editing software

Gusty will focus on:

  • The mechanics of digital recording
  • Easy ways to improve the acoustics of your space
  • Portable recording/field recording
  • Recording in a professional studio environment
